IV. REAL CAMPAIGN FINANCE REFORM

Subject: The last time campaign finance reform was tried by Washington, D.C., it turned out to be a ridiculous exercise. Asking politicians to write legislation limiting the amount of money that can be donated to their campaigns is worse than the fox guarding the hen house, it's more like the fox phoning a chicken distributor and ordering more chickens.

PLAN: The donation limit should be raised to $25,000. per year for any and all candidates of your choice. Only individual citizens can contribute.

EXAMPLE: The tobacco farmer can give to the candidate or candidates any amount he so chooses, up to the limit, but the Tobacco Growers Association can not donate a dime. The teacher can donate but the Teachers Union cannot. The hunter in Montana can give but the National Rifle Association cannot. No political action committees, no lawyers' guild, no groups, no corporations, and no churches. It is real simple, if you CAN NOT VOTE, you can not donate. Groups can not vote, companies can not vote, associations can not vote, only individual citizens. This will include any foreign money that always seems to find its way into our politician's pockets. Those convicted of violating the law prohibiting such donations shall face severe penalties, including mandatory incarceration for both the contributor and the receiver. This is the only way we will ever take back our elections. Voter fraud should become a federal crime. It is time for a National Identification Card.
